Last Friday’s newsletter tackled the inconsistency of all the different delete buttons in iOS.

And while there’s an argument to be made in favor of the different styles (the Von Restorff effect), at least the buttons’ meaning is clear — delete something!

That’s not necessarily true of many of the buttons in Apple Music.

Apple Music’s Now Playing screen is packed with tiny symbols and buttons, but their meanings aren’t obvious. And — this is the real crime here — they aren’t labeled!

What does the infinity loop do? What about the button with the arrows? And the crossing arrows?

Our latest guide breaks down every icon so you can master the app’s interface and get more out of your listening experience. Dive in and decode Apple Music like a pro!

One more thing ...

You permeate the message by example. When something's not quite good enough, do you stop and make it better or do you just ship it? Everybody watches to see how senior management makes those decisions. You can say anything you want, but everybody watches very carefully when you're in a difficult situation what decisions you make, what values you have.
