Will Apple's earnings suck?

Wall Street is pessimistic, but Cupertino could surprise.

Apple will report its latest quarterly financial results this afternoon, and Wall Street is expecting a drop in revenue compared to the same quarter last year.

If Wall Street is right, it’ll be Apple’s third successive decline in the June quarter. That sounds bad, but it’s largely because Apple had a ginormous, blockbuster quarter two years ago as work-from-home customers snapped up MacBooks and iPads for working remotely.

That trend’s cooled off, but Apple could yet pull a surprise.

Some Wall Street analysts are seeing continued strong demand for the iPhone 14, despite a new model that will be rolled out just a few weeks from now.

Whatever happens, check the Cult of Mac website for info on Apple’s Q3 2023 earnings, which will be announced after the stock market closes today. We’ll have all the details, plus tidbits from Tim Cook and Co.’s earnings call afterward with Wall Street analysts, which often reveals interesting details about Apple’s business.
