Longtime vlogger iJustine posted an entertaining video on X this week that is completely jaw-dropping.
In the short video, she gives a quick tour of Sora, a free AI video-generation app from OpenAI that’s storming the App Store charts.
iJustine talks about using the app and shows off its ability to generate imagery that’s obviously impossible but nonetheless very photorealistic — like a short clip of her judo wrestling an elephant or sitting cross-legged on the surface of the moon.
And the iJustine in the video? It’s an AI-generated avatar that looks and sounds uncannily like her.
The overall effect — on me anyway — is, “Holy cow, we’re scr***ed!”
It’s just one of hundreds of amazing, strange, entertaining — but also disturbing, frightening and dystopian — Sora videos that have been posted by early adopters.
Here’s why Sora shot to the top of the app charts — and what you need to do to get in on the action.

There are scattered reports that some AirPods Pro 3 are glitching out and emitting annoying whistling sounds when ANC is on. I have an old pair of first-gen AirPods that just started doing something similar — which makes me suspect it’s a software thing and not limited to the latest models. Or perhaps it’s a long-term, unaddressed problem?
You’re eagerly awaiting the upcoming M5 MacBook Pro, but you’re a bit concerned about the king’s ransom to pay for it? Enter Upgraded, a great financing program that spreads the payments monthly, and lets you upgrade every two years if you stay on the program.
You can attach an AirTag to your dog’s collar, or you could get the ultimate tracking device — a GPS-enabled collar that comes with some clever geofencing features. See our hands-on review of the new Halo Collar 5.
Apple no longer calls the Apple Watch and M4 Mac mini “carbon neutral” — and I was surprised by the reason why.
Folder Quick Look is a great little free app that I know a lot of you will like.

You go to your TV when you want to turn your brain off. You go to your computer when you want to turn your brain on. Those are not the same.
