Vision Pro's big update
WWDC might bring the biggest visionOS refresh yet.
Although the Apple Vision Pro headset is a magical device that gives a tantalizing glimpse at the future of computing, it’s hardly flying off shelves.
The astronomical price tag is a big culprit, as is its isolating form factor. But perhaps the lack of a must-have killer app is what’s holding it back the most.
If Vision Pro did something better than any other device out there, it would have a much better chance at mainstream adoption.
Or not. This first version of the headset is really a developer device. It’s aimed at coders and creators who are excited by its potential and eager to find that elusive killer app.
These folks should get a big boost in that quest at next week’s WWDC, when Apple will likely unveil visionOS 3.
It’s potentially the biggest update to the headset’s operating system yet — but rumors about it are scarce. Here’s what we do know, and some ideas for the low-hanging fruit that Apple should address.

I have a MagSafe charging puck from Apple but can safely say I’ve used it about once! That might change if a new version offers super-fast 50W charging speeds, as rumored.
This is a clever idea: You might soon be able to use your AirPods as a remote camera button.
This super-lightweight drone is a 4K flying camera, and because it weighs less than 249 grams, you don’t need to register it with the Federal Aviation Administration. So less paperwork, fewer restrictions and more time flying and filming.

With ongoing court battles, App Store bans and shady court-defying maneuvers, Apple’s reputation as a developer-friendly company has taken a bit of a beating lately. Ahead of WWDC — Apple’s annual developer lovefest — the company’s doing a bit of damage control by releasing some truly eye-popping numbers.
The latest entry-level iPad (a great little device) has dropped to its lowest price yet.
Check out the first X thread below about a new toy camera app. The interface looks great, and it reacts to light, just as Apple’s new OS updates are rumored to. And the last X post just made me laugh.

One more thing ...
It's insane: We all have busy lives, we have jobs and we have interests and some of us have children, everyone's lives are just getting busier, not less busy, in this busy society. You just don't have time to learn this stuff, and everything's getting more complicated.
