How to use AirDrop to share holiday photos

At a holiday gathering I attended recently, everyone was snapping photos and discussing the best way to share them, when someone suggested AirDrop.

Somehow, despite reporting on Apple for more than 30 years, I’d forgotten all about AirDrop for sharing photos with others.

If you haven’t used it yourself, it’s incredibly easy. However, because of “cyberflashing,” Apple changed how AirDrop works, making it not so easy to share with people not in your contacts (like folks you meet at holiday parties).

Luckily, it’s dead easy to fix, if you know how.

• The highly acclaimed (and award-winning) Murderbot sci-fi novels are coming to Apple TV+. I’ve not read them, but the series sounds great. Can’t wait.

• The Apple Watch Ultra is already chonky, and it may get even bigger — the display, that is.

• Since adding CarPlay to my old truck using an Amazon Fire tablet, I’ve come to realize there’s an easier and cheaper way: like this 10-inch touchcreen, which looks fantastic. I’m about to buy one of these myself and put it under the tree, as I’m unlikely to get any good pressies this year 😢.
