It’s all business today at Cult of Mac.

Yesterday, Apple announced its quarterly earnings, and despite AI-driven supply chain woes, Every. Damn. Thing. Is. Up — way up! Way, way up! (Everything except Apple's stock price, which began falling right after the company reported its latest record-breaking results.)

Apple’s numbers are truly mind-boggling. Check out our post that breaks it down into easy-to-digest chunks.

The high points are iPhone and Mac. The fab iPhone 17 range drove a huge wave of upgrades, while Macs capable of running local AI models flew off the shelves.

Hilariously, the low point is services, Tim Cook’s clever cash cow, which saw a relatively anemic 12% growth — a disappointment for Wall Street analysts who expected more.

In yesterday’s earnings call with some of those analysts, Cook said Apple itself underestimated demand last quarter: Sales grew even more than the company’s own rosy internal forecasts.

The off-the-charts demand for Apple products likely will continue during the next product cycle, Cook and Co. said.

Unfortunately, all that winning for Apple comes with a downside for you and me. Paired with RAMageddon, the crazy demand might mean long wait times for new iPhones, iPads and Macs this fall.

One more thing ...

You build a company that will still stand for something a generation or two from now. That’s what Walt Disney did, and Hewlett and Packard, and the people who built Intel. They created a company to last, not just to make money. That’s what I want Apple to be.
