Of all the great media experiences of my life, watching Mad Max: Fury Road in 3D on my Vision Pro headset ranks right up there.
It was as moving and memorable as anything I’ve ever seen on screen. And I’m not a huge fan of 3D, and was somewhat cool on the movie when I watched it the first time in a movie theater.
But the immersive effects of 3D, combined with the size of the virtual screen in Vision Pro (and the headset’s great speakers), made for a thrilling and utterly enjoyable experience.
In fact, almost all the immersive media I’ve seen on Vision Pro has been unusually memorable, from the Encounter Dinosaurs app (which puts 3D dinosaurs in your environment) to a short concert film from Metallica.
However, all of this pales in comparison to the best media experience in Vision Pro — browsing your own photo library. This is from our hands-on review of the new headset:
If you’ve never seen your photos on [Vision Pro], you are in for a whirlwind of emotions when you browse through your life’s memories, filling a whole wall — and in 3D. It is simply superb.
If you have the dough, the M5 Vision Pro is unrivalled as an entertainment device. It stands head and shoulders above all else.
Yeah, it’s still $3,500, which is a high price to pay for the pleasure of watching Mad Max, but it’s oh soooooo worth it!
