The odd thing about Apple’s preferred new method of introducing products — hands-on influencer events — is that it leaves even professional Apple watchers like me in the dark.

I’ve been puzzling all week about why Apple added a touchscreen to the MacBook Pro.

The reasons certainly were not spelled out in Apple’s press release, and weren’t clear from the media that emerged from Wednesday’s hands-on event in L.A.

It only became clear from a couple of interviews company executives gave to media outlets after the event.

Turns out, they had good reasons to add touch to the MacBook Pro — and that an important segment of Apple’s customer base was actively asking for it. Here’s why.

The AI notetaker that gets the hard words right

Your AI is only as good as what you feed it. Feed it a transcript with your product names, acronyms, and numbers spelled wrong, and you spend the afternoon hand-fixing the output.

Wispr Flow Notetaker uses your dictionary and calendar, so product names, acronyms, numbers, and uncommon names come out spelled right. It pops up when your meeting starts and captures Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and Slack huddles with one click, no bot joining the call.

Then your meetings show up inside Claude or ChatGPT through the built-in connector. No copy paste. Try Notetaker free on Mac and Windows.

It's really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times, people don't know what they want until you show it to them.
