Stick, twist or fold?
See the amazing, creaseless screen coming to first foldable iPhone
They’ve cracked it! By golly, they’ve finally cracked it!
Samsung has been building foldable phones since 2019 — six years! — and until now, it looked like a quixotic quest.
All the company’s previous attempts suffered one serious, fatal flaw: A glaringly-obvious fold in the middle of the screen.
But the Korean giant’s latest foldable — the Samsung Z Fold 7, launched this week — achieves what its predecessors could not: The fold has been all but eliminated.
This is good news for the mythical folding iPhone, which will likely use the exact same screen, or something very like it (Samsung is the rumored screen supplier).
And it’s not just the screen: The bulk of the device too is much reduced too. This all good new for Apple’s first foldable, which will likely debut next year and may already be in early production.

What dark magic is this? Apple has figured out how to wirelessly update Macs sealed in their retail boxes.

My goodness, there’s a lot of technology packed into this new — and relatively inexpensive — smart doorbell.
If you’ve been eying Apple’s beautiful but pricey Studio Display monitor, Amazon’s got a Prime Day deal that knocks the price of the Studio Display with nano-texture glass down to just $1,499.99 — cheaper than even the standard version. This matches the Studio Display’s lowest price ever, so it’s unlikely you’ll see a better deal on the screen anytime soon.
Anker makes some of the best charging accessories out there, and Prime Day has savings on a bunch of the company’s devices, including the 25K power bank all the influencers are raving about.
And if you want to get serious about headphones, Sennheiser has dropped the price of a pair of audiophile-level cans to a consumer-level price.
Today’s the day in Apple history that Steve Jobs finally acquiesced to the App Store. It’s turned into the most consequential software distribution system ever.
It’s interesting to see who you guys think will be the next Apple CEO, following COO Jeff William’s retirement. See yesterday’s poll results below.

One more thing ...
It’s got all the stuff we want. And it’s built right into iPhone. And that has let us create desktop class applications and networking. Right? Not the crippled stuff that you find on most phones. This is real, desktop-class applications.
