Split View on iPad never set the world on fire, but it has its fans.

For some, Split View is the canonical multitasking system in iPad. It allows two apps to run side by side, splitting the screen between them.

It’s super-handy for copying/pasting between apps, or for referencing documents in one app while writing in another.

No, you can’t have multiple app windows open simultaneously — but that’s a feature, not a bug.

Its simplicity is its appeal, but Apple ditched Split View in favor of Windowed Apps, a true multiwindow multitasking system that makes the iPad more like a Mac.

The good news is that Split View is still with us, but it’s now a part of Windowed Apps.

Here’s how to use it, and let your iPad be an iPad.

After a week [of fasting] you start to feel fantastic. You get a ton of vitality from not having to digest all this food. I was in great shape. I felt I could get up and walk to San Francisco anytime I wanted.
