I hate to admit this, because it makes me look like a complete dope, but I just discovered a very important function of my Apple Watch Ultra that I’d not been using.
Most weekends, I go for long bicycle rides, and I diligently log my workouts on my watch.
OFC, I have the workout complication on my Apple Watch face, so I hit it, then select Outdoor Cycle.
But last Saturday, while smearing my hands and wrists with sun cream, I accidentally hit the big, orange Action button on the side of the Apple Watch Ultra I’ve been wearing daily for almost three years now.
To my surprise, it brought up the Workout app — and I’ve never felt so foolish.
I say “to my surprise,” but I wasn’t really surprised. I knew all along in the back of my mind what the huge orange button does. I just never got in the habit of using it.
I think a lot of people are like this. We get stuck in our ways and use only a fraction of the functions our devices are capable of.
And the Apple Watch is surprisingly capable — it can do hundreds of things, a lot of them you’re likely not taking advantage of.
Cult of Mac writer Ed Hardy devised a simple trick to help him get the most out of his Apple Watch — and we think it will help you, too.

It's a shame that a big brand like Samsung still can't provide timely software updates to even its flagships.
From expecting stable ONE UI 7 update in October 2024, we are almost at the end of April 2025.
Apple is better with the updates game as of now.

One more thing ...
So if Apple just becomes a place where computers are a commodity item and where the romance is gone, and where people forget that computers are the most incredible invention that man has ever invented, then I'll feel I have lost Apple. But if I'm a million miles away and all those people still feel those things and they're still working to make the next great personal computer, then I will feel that my genes are still in there.
