Share passwords the smart way
Apple makes it easy with iOS 17. Here's how to set it up.
By this point, you should know that creating short, easy-to-remember passwords — and, worse, reusing them — is strictly a no-no.
Still, sharing complex passwords is a pain if you don’t use a proper password manager. Luckily for iPhone owners, Apple made the process much easier in iOS 17.
If you use this timesaving feature, you should be spared from incessant queries like, “What’s the Netflix password?” and “How do I log in to Twitter again?”
Our handy guide shows you how to set up password sharing in iOS 17. It’s easy, and it works for friends, family members and co-workers alike.
Also in today’s newsletter:
Wednesday’s massive earthquake that shook Taiwan killed at least nine people, injured hundreds more and destroyed buildings. It also disrupted operations at Apple’s chipmaker, at least temporarily.
On this day in 2010, the original iPad landed on store shelves, and the masses adored the “magical” new tablet.
The first iOS 17.5 beta is out, but don’t expect sweeping changes.
It’s kind of surprising how cheaply you can get your hands on an older (but still quite capable) Apple Watch these days. Today’s Apple Watch sale makes Series 6 through Series 8 (and SE 2) very affordable.

Inviting your friends or family to watch a movie together on Apple Vision Pro has never been more immersive, thanks to spatial personas. It makes the headset a lot less isolating and more social, ultimately bringing us closer together worldwide. Welcome to the future!

One more thing ...
It’s the best browsing experience you've ever had. It's phenomenal to see a whole webpage right in front of you, and you can manipulate with your fingers. It's unbelievably great. Way better than a laptop. Way better than a smartphone.
