The robots are coming

First AI-written app may soon hit App Store

The robots are definitely coming.

In fact, they’re already here. A couple of times this week I’ve seen empty robot cars navigating the streets of San Francisco.

Even though I know exactly what’s going on, the experience of seeing a completely-empty driverless car is supernatural; it’s spooky and weird.

Now an indie Apple developer has submitted an app to the App Store that was entirely built by ChatGPT. If Apple approves it, the software could be the first entirely AI-built app on the App Store.

We interviewed the developer to get the lowdown on his process and how he feels about AI coming for his job. It’s an interesting and insightful read; he’s a thoughtful guy.

One more thing ...

Just like driving — people that don't drive are really rare. In one generation or two, people that don't use computers will be pretty rare.
