Rare praise

President Donald Trump is not known for heaping praise on people, especially someone from the other end of the political spectrum.

But Trump did just that, praising Tim Cook in a way that only Trump could do.

I’ve been reading a lot of coverage of Tim Cook’s imminent retirement, and the mainstream narrative is that Tim isn’t a product guy. I think that’s not entirely fair, and a bit lazy. True, Apple hasn’t come out with a world-changing product like the iPhone under Cook’s watch, but who has? Apple Watch may well turn out to be just such a product, and maybe AI-infused AirPods, too. We’ll see. Anyway, here is why Tim has been such a great leader of Apple.
Cook was a consensus builder, but his replacement, John Ternus, appears to be a little more imperious!
At public appearances, Cook was often happy to take selfies. He seemed to genuinely enjoy interacting with Apple customers. As he steps down, he wrote a heartfelt note to the Apple community.
