The Problem With Jon Stewart [Apple TV+ review]
I miss Jon Stewart.
During the Iraq War, his show was the only way to watch the news.
He captured the madness and insanity and made the unpalatable somewhat slightly palatable. The regular news was just too depressing. I could only take it filtered through a comedic viewpoint.
So I'm delighted to see him back with his new Apple TV+ show, The Problem With Jon Stewart.
I haven't yet seen the show -- our reviewer, Scout Tafoya has -- but the trailer alone had me guffawing.
There's high hopes for this one.

Jon Stewart is back on TV with more control, more freedom and more gray hair. His new Apple TV+ show, The Problem With Jon Stewart, debuts Thursday and promises to tackle the tough questions facing the world. But has America missed its smart-ass in chief since he departed The Daily Show in 2015?
iPhone 13 Pro Max charges faster than its predecessor when connected to a 30W (or higher) power adapter, new tests reveal.
A highlight of the just-released budget iPad and iPad mini is the addition of Center Stage, which lets the front-facing camera follow someone on a video call. It’s brilliant — FaceTime and Zoom calls are so much simpler. This is perhaps the best new feature Apple has come up with in years.
Siri is widely considered the dumbest of the smart assistants (although I would argue that Samsung’s Bixby easily takes that crown) and it just got a little dumber.
Apple released a rare Device Support Update on Thursday for macOS Big Sur. While details are thin, the patch fixes a problem with Macs communicating with iPhones and iPads. It’s a free download available now.

At Cult of Mac, we’re always going on about M1 Macs, but here’s something for the Intel Mac crowd. OWC's new DisplayPort adapter lets you connect two 4K displays or one 8K display to your Intel-based Mac using a single Thunderbolt port.
Apple just classified the first Apple Watch, released back in 2015, as "vintage." That might sound like a compliment, but it really means that getting the wearable repaired is a bit more difficult than it used to be.

One more thing ...
"What happens in most companies is that you don't keep great people under working environments where individual accomplishment is discouraged rather than encouraged. The great people leave and you end up with mediocrity. I know, because that's how Apple was built. Apple is an Ellis Island company. Apple is built on refugees from other companies. These are the extremely bright individual contributors who were troublemakers at other companies." -- Steve Jobs
