Apple's first earbuds with HRM

Heart-rate monitoring is coming soon to Powerbeats Pro earbuds.

When I go cycling, I often forget to wear my heart-rate monitor, but I never forget my AirPods. (Yeah, I’ve got my priorities right!)

But that soon may no longer be a problem: Apple is almost certainly prepping AirPods with built-in heart-rate monitoring.

That’s because the company is about to launch new Powerbeats Pro earbuds with a built-in HRM — Apple’s first earbuds to do so.

And if the Powerbeats earbuds get HRM, Apple undoubtedly will add the feature to AirPods (it’s been rumored forever).

The new Powerbeats Pro earbuds might launch next week. And they look pretty slick.

  • I spent most of the morning listening to rapper Kendrick Lamar after his Grammy wins last night. Now Apple put together a collection of his songs ahead of his Super Bowl halftime show coming up next weekend. Check it out.

  • I had no idea there were desktop apps that sharpen text on external monitors. With my batlike eyesight, I’m gonna have to try it out. See today’s featured setup post.
