TL;DR: Scramble Cloud is a 20TB end-to-end encrypted cloud storage with zero-knowledge architecture, and a lifetime subscription is on sale for $349.95 (regularly $1,440).
iCloud charges you $10.99 per month for its 2TB cloud storage plan. That’s well over $100 per year. That may be why more people are ditching it for newer cloud storage platforms that don’t charge per month. Scramble Cloud is one of these new cloud storage providers, and they just dropped the price for a 20TB lifetime subscription down to $349.95 (reg. $1,440).
20TB cloud storage you only pay for once
In contrast to many other cloud platforms, Scramble Cloud really leans into personal privacy. Encryption happens on your device before anything gets uploaded, so your files never exist in an unencrypted state on someone else’s server. Scramble uses zero-knowledge architecture, which means even their own team can’t read what you’ve stored. The infrastructure is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, built and hosted in Germany.
You can mount Scramble as a network drive through WebDAV, so it shows up right in Finder alongside your local folders. There’s also a desktop client for macOS 11 and later, a CLI tool for anyone who prefers the terminal and a web app that works in any modern browser on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. Drag-and-drop uploads and a familiar folder layout keep things simple if you don’t want to touch the command line.
Sharing works through encrypted links, direct sharing with other Scramble users or Team Link for collaborating with people who don’t have accounts. You can create encrypted groups for a team or family and set file permissions within them. Encrypted video streaming lets you upload and watch video files securely without downloading them first.
Scramble supports files up to 5GB each with a daily upload cap of 70GB.
