It looks like everyone and their dog rushed to install the fab new iOS 26 update, but macOS Tahoe? Not so much.

On X, Sebastiaan de With, producer of the popular Halide camera app, noted the hesitancy.

“Am I alone in happily running iOS 26 on my phone but waiting a while before upgrading my Mac?” he wrote.

The replies mostly agreed with de With. Most people seem to be holding off updating their Macs, mostly because they’re work machines and too risky to update willy-nilly.

“I usually wait for the first point release before I go for it on my main work machine,” said one, summarizing the common sentiment.

(Anyone still using the original iPod should definitely hold off — see the first X post below.)

I, for one, have been running the macOS Tahoe beta since day one, and aside from a couple of work-stopping glitches (like Slack not working, lol) it’s been great!

macOS Tahoe is indeed a major, major upgrade, with more than 40 new features, including a much-improved Spotlight search and, of course, the new Liquid Glass user interface.

Personally, I think it’s worth it just for the new look — and work be damned! — but it’s your call. If you are updating to macOS Tahoe, here’s our guide to what’s new and worth checking out first.

How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential

Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.

Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.

Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.

One more thing ...

When you’re doing something for yourself, or your best friend or family, you’re not going to cheese out. If you don’t love something, you’re not going to go the extra mile, work the extra weekend, challenge the status quo as much.
