'Murderbot' kills!
Why you should watch new Apple TV+ sci-fi show this weekend.
We’ve got so many good posts today, I didn’t know what to choose as the lead:
DIY Touch ID hacks?
A rave review of Murderbot, Apple TV+’s hottest new show?
Or a review of a really interesting new gadget that helps hunt down charging problems?
I went with the review of Murderbot because it sounds like a must-watch. Or at least, a must-check-out.
TBH, the trailer for season one put me off. I didn’t like the “humor.”
But after reading our review, I’m a lot more inclined to at least give it a peek. Mostly because of this line:
“Just don’t think this series is like a made-for-TV Deadpool, another action comedy narrated by the lead character. In that Marvel movie series, people get killed for laughs. Murderbot includes nothing of the sort.”
I really don’t like the Deadpool movies for exactly this reason, and if Murderbot is the opposite, it’s going to be much more to my liking.
Take a gander to see if it appeals to you, too.

Cult of Mac managing editor Lewis Wallace is a big fan of Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program. Now Upgraded is bringing a similar subscription plan to MacBooks, and it looks pretty great.
Touch ID is great for unlocking your Mac and authorizing passwords, but it’s only available on Apple-made keyboards that some people really don’t like. Today’s featured setup highlights one user’s odd but clever workaround.
Sony just updated its flagship noise-canceling headphones, making possibly the best headphones out there even better.
Here’s that charging gadget I mentioned earlier. It’s a teeny little multimeter that has a bunch of handy uses.
This cute handheld gaming console can emulate 20 classic systems, including Game Boy, Sega Genesis and Nintendo Entertainment System. I know what my brother’s getting for Xmas.
Today’s the day in Apple history that Apple launched one of the best computers the company ever made: the venerable PowerBook 540c. Perhaps this should have been the lead post?

Holy crap, Apple really outdid themselves for the Monaco Grand Prix. Apple Maps is undeniably the best looking maps app out there.

CarPlay Ultra (terrible name) looks like garbage. Some of the worst tap targets I've seen in any car ever. Like, what is this list? Just wretched.

One more thing ...
I'm just a guy who probably should have been a semi-talented poet on the Left Bank. I sort of got sidetracked here.
