Another camera button????
The Jony Ive era is definitely over.
The latest iPhone rumors point to yet another Camera Control button coming to the soon-to-be-announced iPhone 17 — and this new button will be in an interesting place.
Camera Control, of course, is the touch-sensitive button Apple added to the current iPhone 16 lineup.
But the button has proven divisive. It acts not only as a shutter button, but also adds a bunch of functionality with touch-sensitive gestures. These are sometimes too easy to trigger, sending the user into a confusing thicket of settings instead of just snapping a picture.
Now Apple is reportedly poised to add yet another Camera Control button to the iPhone 17 Pro to complement the current camera button. That means the iPhone 17 Pro will get not one, but two Camera Control buttons!
In addition, Apple will significantly beef up the rear zoom lenses and add a new Pro-level Camera app too!
It’s a pretty wild set of rumors — which should be taken with a pinch of salt — but the ideas are plausible and make certain amount to sense.
However, I’ve yet to meet anybody who unreservedly likes the current Camera Control button, let alone a second one! It also means the iPhone 17 Pro will have 5 exterior buttons! Jony Ive must be losing his mind!

One more thing ...
I found that there were these incredibly great people at doing certain things, and you couldn't replace one of these people with 50 average people. They could just do stuff that no number of average people could do... And so I have spent my work life trying to find and recruit and retain and work with these kind of people. My number one job here at Apple is to make sure that the top 100 people are A+ players. And everything else will take care of itself.
