Every year there’s some “gate” controversy with the new iPhones, from Antennagate to Bendgate, Batterygate, Chipgate, Chargergate and so on.
This year, there hasn’t been such a controversy attached to the new iPhone 18 Pros — but it sounds like there actually should be one.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max appears to have a serious flaw regarding the memory in models with higher-tier storage.
And if the problem is as serious as it appears to be, I’d say this is perhaps one of the few situations that actually merits the usually vastly overblown gate controversy.

I wish I could think of a better name than “Memorygate,” though.

Apple’s new Beats headphones are called Beats 360, and they look pretty great. I know this is a philistine opinion, but I like the bass-heavy sound of Beats cans. And get this: The retail price of the new headphones is $350 and extra cushions cost just 10 bucks. 350 + 10 = 360.

Bummer. Apple originally said iPhone 18 Pro’s Grain and Texture camera controls would be available on certain older iPhones as well. But that’s been walked back, for reasons unexplained.
Apple Watch’s apparently much-loved app-switching shortcut is back, with a catch!
The best thing about Apple’s new music venue in London will hopefully be a return of streaming concerts much like Apple’s free iTunes Festival of old. I was obsessed with Elbow’s set from 2012 and played it on an endless loop for months. (I’m listening again now on Apple Music.) The new Apple Music Hall sounds pretty incredible.
