Meet the new Apple Pencil
First budget stylus from Apple
Steve Jobs famously hated styluses. Over the years he made lots of disparaging remarks about them. “If you see a stylus, they blew it,” he famously said when launching the iPhone.
This was at the very beginning of the smartphone era and at the time, Jobs was absolutely right. Using your finger was way better in the early days of touchscreen devices.
But I’ve been using a stylus recently with my iPad, and it’s great for a lot of things. For some creatives, stylus support is critical to their workflows.
Apple now has launched its cheapest Apple Pencil yet, and a lot of people are complaining online that it’s limited. It’s not pressure-sensitive, for one.
But the new Pencil is clearly aimed at the entry-level market, and is perfectly suited for things like students taking written notes.
As the iPad matures, supporting specialist input devices like a stylus is a natural progression. Steve Jobs may be rolling in his grave, but it’s the reality of maturing devices.
How do you feel about it? Do you use a stylus? Take the poll below and leave a comment.

Once you get Apple AirTags, you’ll want to tag everything. But they’re pricey. These AirTag alternatives from Momax are just $12 each — and they work with Find My.
These petite new USB-C chargers are as slim as your iPhone.
This is a clever idea: a smart thermostat that doubles as a screen for your video doorbell. I need this!

Apple is definitely teasing an iOS redesign!
Have a look at these screenshots, everything looks so unlike Apple's current software!
Personally, I think it has something to do with the Vision Pro headset...

One more thing ...
[During a trip to Himalaya to meet a Hindu holy man] It was a chance to meet a spiritual being and hang out with his followers, but it was also a chance to have a good meal. I could smell the food as we got near, and I was very hungry. He said, ‘You are just like a baby.’ I was not relishing this attention. We sit down and he pulls out this straight razor. I’m thinking he’s a nutcase and begin to worry. Then he pulls out a bar of soap – I had long hair at the time – and he lathered up my hair and shaved my head. He told me that he was saving my health.
