macOS 16 rumors

What to expect at WWDC25 for macOS Tahoe.

Although the Mac is the quintessential Apple product, it’s a bit of a bastard stepchild these days.

Apple sells more iPads than Macs, and vastly more iPhones, leaving Steve Jobs’ original baby somewhat out in the cold.

But like "The Dude,” the Mac abides.

The Mac’s not the white-hot center of Apple’s universe anymore, yet it’s probably the best example of Apple’s famed vertical integration — the seamless blend of hardware, software and online services.

While many users complain about mobile software lagging behind Apple’s mobile hardware, the same can’t be said for the Mac.

Both the Mac’s software and the Mac’s hardware are market-leading. The current lineup of hardware is arguably the best ever. And the software’s not too shabby, either.

But that’s not preventing Apple from shaking things up.

In fact, next week might bring a rather major shakeup to macOS — two or three, in fact. Here’s what to expect.

One more thing ...

People don’t know what they want until you show it to them. That’s why I never rely on market research. Our task is to read things that are not yet on the page.
