Our writer Rajesh Pandey compares the latest Microsoft Surface laptop to Apple’s newest MacBook Air.

Say what?!? Why?

Because Microsoft’s new laptops ditch Intel in favor of Qualcomm’s newest Arm-based Snapdragon chips.

The transition is akin to Apple’s switch to Apple silicon a few years ago. Qualcomm’s chips are based on the same Arm instruction set, and promise much-improved performance, efficiency and battery life.
