This keyboard costs more than a Mac mini

It does look nice, though ...

OK, yes, I’ve spent a lot of money on Apple gear, but never have I dropped several hundred dollars on a keyboard.

I’m not typical, though.

Keyboards are the one type of computer peripheral that gain devoted, sometimes fanatical, followers.

See Marcin Wichary’s new book Shift Happens as proof. The two-volume tome about keyboards costs $150 and has raised an unbelievable three-quarters-of-a-million dollars on Kickstarter.

Now a Japanese firm has developed an all-wood keyboard that sells for more than a Mac mini. It’s bound to get hardcore keyboardists drooling. See today’s top post for details.

Also don’t miss the tweet below that shows Adobe’s new Firefly AI creating a complex vector graphic from just a line drawing. It’s pretty jaw-dropping.

Bill Gates is right: AI is the most revolutionary technology he has seen in decades. He calls it “the most important advance in technology since the graphical user interface.”

A message from the Cult of Mac Store

Mifa’s nylon band is a great piece of every-day-carry gear. We gave the strap a four-out-of-five review on Cult of Mac: “[It’s] a high-quality product at a low price." You can get it on the Cult of Mac Store.

Tweetz o’ the day

One more thing ...

When people look at an iMac, they think the design is really great, but most people don't understand it's not skin-deep. There's a reason why, after two years, people haven't been able to copy the iMac. It's not just surface. The reason the iMac doesn't have a fan is engineering. It took a ton of engineering, and that's true for the Cube and everything else.
