I’m beyond excited about the raft of products Apple is going to release this year.
The new “HomePad” smart home hub is perhaps top of my list because it’s a brand-new product category. I can’t wait to see how Apple reimagines the heart of the smart home.
But there’s also an exciting new folding iPhone, a budget-friendly MacBook and new AirPods with cameras!
Even routine spec updates of major products, like the iPad, iPhone and Mac, promise to be killer, thanks to Apple’s latest chips — networking as well as CPU — which are proving to be anything but routine.
It all starts March 4, when Apple will hold media events in New York, London and Shanghai.
And given that Apple’s going to be having a busy year, the March event is likely to be busy also. Here’s what to expect.

The March 4 “special Apple Experience” will likely see the debut of a new MacBook Air with a super-speedy M5 chip. Here’s why the new Air is probably the best MacBook for most people.

A close family member with dementia was recently targeted by scammers, who swindled her out of thousands of dollars in untraceable gift cards. To reduce future attacks, we signed her up with Incogni, an automated service that scrubs personal data from the net. It’s working. The scams have stopped. 🔥 DEAL OF THE DAY: The latest model of the Ring video doorbell is just $60 (a healthy 40% off). Dystopian surveillance network aside, Ring doorbells are the best thing since sliced bread.
The much-ballyhooed controversy over Liquid Glass is supposedly slowing the adoption of iOS 26. Poppycock, says Apple!
To see how far Apple’s laptops have come, check out the Pismo PowerBook from 2000, one of the best laptops Apple ever made. I remember having to remove the keyboard to insert a Wi-Fi card on one of these. Fun times!
Thanks for all the comments on last Friday’s poll about this newsletter’s wallpapers and Steve Jobs quotes. More than a couple of people said the quotes are the only reason they open the email! Ouch! See below.

How to stop scammers dead in their tracks
Hey, it’s Leander here, with a personal story about Incogni, this week’s newsletter sponsor. Last year, scammers targeted a close relative of mine who has dementia. They swindled her out of thousands of dollars in hard-to-trace gift cards.
She fell for the scams over and over. We tried several things in an attempt to help, including blocking unknown phone numbers and restricting her access to messaging apps.
Nothing worked — except Incogni.
I signed her up for the data-scrubbing service, which automatically removes people’s personal data from the web, including people-search sites and data brokers. Within a couple of months, I could no longer find any details about her on the open web. And the scam calls and texts stopped.
Try Incogni now and get 55% off your subscription with code CULTOFMAC.
