Did you know your iPhone can read out loud anything on its screen?

Yep — thanks to a nifty feature called Accessibility Reader. Apple originally built it for folks who struggle with tiny text, but it’s one of those tools that has a much wider range of uses.

It’s great for reading aloud recipes while your hands are covered in flour. And it can read long emails or articles.

One super-useful application is helping you figure out how to pronounce unfamiliar words so you don’t need to google them. You can even have your iPhone read back what you’re typing — super-handy when you’re trying to catch mistakes on the fly.

Here’s how Accessibility Reader works — and all the other clever Read & Speak tricks hiding inside your iPhone.
