iPhone charger mania!
Lots of weird new chargers debut at IFA Berlin.
IFA Berlin (short for Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) is the world's largest consumer electronics show — Europe’s answer to the annual CES expo in Las Vegas.
Running through September 10, the show will bring boatloads of new smartphones, TVs, laptops, fridges and robot vacuums.
For us Apple users, the most directly relevant new products are a raft of new chargers.
Take Twelve South’s new PlugBug wall charger, which comes with built-in Find My support, making it easy to track down your laptop charger when it goes walkies.
There are also interesting and innovative folding chargers from Belkin and Anker, and don’t miss these clever folding headphones from soundcore.
Also in today’s newsletter:
Talking of headphones: We have a great deal on the excellent Sony WH-1000XM4 noise-canceling headphones. These cans are tops — easily comparable to pricey AirPods Max — but this open-box deal brings them in at $200 — less than half the price of Apple’s headphones.
You don’t need to worry about earwax with headphones, but AirPods are a different story. If your earbuds don’t sound right, maybe they need a good clean.
These new Apple Home-compatible smart locks work with iPhone and Apple Watch — plus face recognition.
Apple TV+ has growing slate of excellent documentaries. The latest is The Last of the Sea Women about South Korea’s “real-life mermaids,” who dive the ocean for their food.

Based on what I've been told, Apple may have accidentally leaked the new Apple Watch 10, in fact when trying to pair an Apple Watch with an iPhone on iOS 18.1 this screen appeared which clearly showed an Apple Watch with a larger screen and ultra-thin edges never seen before

What's interesting here is that a computer did the fun, creative job of drawing Kermit in various scenarios, and then a human did the boring, labor-intensive job of creating shortcuts with custom thumbnails to open all of their favorite apps.

One more thing ...
Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
