Hidden iOS 18 features
There's some cool stuff Apple didn't tell us about.
I love going on long bicycle rides on the backroads of rural California. Trouble is, without cell service, I have a tendency to get hopelessly lost.
Offline Apple Maps is a very handy feature I’ve started using on my iPhone for any backwoods excursion. And now, it’s coming to Apple Watch.
With iOS 18 and watchOS 11, you can now download and sync offline Apple Maps with your Apple Watch.
This is just one of several nice tweaks and features in iOS 18 that Apple didn’t mention during its WWDC24 keynote last week. Here’s our running list of them.

Our writer D. Griffin Jones has been using the visionOS 2 beta all week, and he wrote up his reactions to the headset’s new software. TLDR: The update’s great, but he wishes there was more to it.
If your workflow involves screenshots and screen recordings, you should check out ScreenFloat. This app supercharges screenshots, making it super-easy to capture, edit, share and store them.
Amazon has a ridiculous $350 off M3 MacBook Pros right now.
Logitech’s minimal Keys-to-Go 2 keyboard for iPad is a lightweight way to add a keyboard to your tablet.

A message from ScreenFloat
A screenshot is just a screenshot. Unless you use ScreenFloat.
You can use ScreenFloat to unleash the power of Mac screenshots and screen recordings. ScreenFloat does it all — from capturing, to editing, to sharing and storing. The Mac app lets you make the most of your screenshots with killer features like:
Redact content with a simple right-click.
Markup and annotate.
Crop, resize, rotate and trim.
Drag and drop to other apps, export and share.
Once you have your screenshots looking perfect, you can organize them in ScreenFloat’s Shots Browser with folders, smart folders and tags. You can find them system-wide with Spotlight, and even synchronize them across your devices over iCloud.
"Most useful app for screenshots and enhanced productivity,” says Comet-Jockey, UK.
Power up your Mac screenshots with ScreenFloat. Download the free 28-day trial now (.zip), or buy on the Mac App store (no subscriptions).

When a box and lid fit together well, consumers feel they purchased a quality product. Box suppliers are not able to manufacture to tight tolerances. Apple measures and sorts the boxes and lids into three size groups to ensure good fit.
