Hermes: Apple Watch Series 7 preorders start October 8

I don't know what I'm more excited about: a new episode of Foundation tonight, or new Apple Watches in a couple of weeks.

I have sky-high hopes for Foundation, and last week's cliffhanger has me chomping at the bit to see what'll happen.

And, although it looks like the upcoming Apple Watch is a last-minute substitution for the upgrade Cupertino wanted to deliver, the bigger screen and better battery look like worthwhile upgrades.

Man, that screen. If only you could watch Foundation on it.

Apple TV+’s space opera ramps up this week to show us the goods. But can Foundation get to the business of exciting drama now that the world has been thoroughly built, the characters are in play, and the clock is ticking?

Apple on Friday released an update for iOS 15 that fixes a glitch that disabled the handy feature on the iPhone 13 series.

Mifa’s brilliant Hybrid Sport band for Apple Watch lets you enjoy the look and feel of vintage leather without the drawbacks. A silicone backing means it’s ideal for both formal functions and the toughest workouts. It’s sweat-resistant, incredibly comfortable and amazingly affordable.

The upgrade is rumored to bring a new design, similar to that of AirPods Pro, and other improvements.

The new M1 iPad mini garners rave reviews for its powerful performance and easily handled size. The M1 Mac mini is well-established as a compact but capable desktop machine. And the HomePod mini smart speaker flourished after the demise of the full-size HomePod. So it’s no wonder to see “all mini” computer setups cropping up.

One more thing ...

"You know, Dr. Edwin Land was a troublemaker. He dropped out of Harvard and founded Polaroid. Not only was he one of the great inventors of our time but, more important, he saw the intersection of art and science and business and built an organization to reflect that. Polaroid did that for some years, but eventually Dr. Land, one of those brilliant troublemakers, was asked to leave his own company — which is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of. So Land, at 75, went off to spend the remainder of his life doing pure science, trying to crack the code of color vision. The man is a national treasure. I don’t understand why people like that can’t be held up as models: This is the most incredible thing to be — not an astronaut, not a football player — but this." -- Steve Jobs
