Happy Earth Day 🍏
Today is Earth Day, and Apple is celebrating by announcing several milestones in becoming greener, including using 20% recycled materials in its products in 2021.
Apple also donated money to the World Wildlife Fund (and made it easy for you to do so, too). And the company rolled out an Earth Day fitness challenge: You get a cool (virtual) badge if you work out today.
Plus, our friends at Grid Studio, which recycles old iPhones by tearing them down and framing them, is offering 20% off today with the code earth2022.
Happy Earth Day!

P.S. If you think Earth Day is a bunch of woke nonsense, check out Apple TV+'s stunning dinosaur documentary trailer for a reminder about extinction.
iPhones will continue getting smaller and more efficient processors for years to come. TSMC, the company that manufactures all Apple’s chips, says it should be able to begin producing 2nm processors in 2025. These will almost certainly show up in future Mac and iPad models, as well as iPhone.
The wait for a redesigned MacBook Air with an M2 processor will be over soon, if a tipster is correct. The notebook supposedly will be announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June. And a version of the Mac mini with the M2 might show up, too.
The iPhone 13 series is selling very well ... with one exception. The iPhone 13 mini is not attracting U.S. buyers, according to a report by a market-research firm. This helps explain why the upcoming iPhone 14 series isn’t expected to have a “mini” version with a 5.4-inch screen.
At long last, you can buy the powerful-but-compact charger at Amazon. And you might want to do just that. It looks like Anker’s new GaN II charger beats Apple’s 96W charger in three ways. It’s smaller, more powerful and more versatile.
We love our AirPods. But do we like thinking about all the gross stuff that accumulates inside the little holes which you then put into your ear? Not so much. The way to fix that is with a reliable AirPods cleaning tool. And right now, you can get this great Wireless Charger + Cleaning Pen Set for AirPods on sale for just $22.99. That’s 54% off the regular price of $49.
In an open letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook, more than 100 film and TV professionals called on the company to publicly commit to building its video editing software into an industry-standard tool. The group praised Final Cut Pro as “the biggest leap forward in editing technology since the move to digital” but complained the software doesn't live up to its potential.
As a third-generation entrepreneur and mom to three kids, Michigan Realtor Breanne Martin Gaudard instinctively knows that to thrive, businesses have to be able to scale.
Almost every day, our robot vacuum tangles itself in charging cables, which the kids toss cavalierly across the floor. Snaking from behind the couch, the cords wait like baited fishing lines to ensnare our unsuspecting Roomba. Luckily, we just got some Cable Blocks from Function 101.
A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. So today's M1 Mac mini-driven setup, with eight smashing photos, must be roughly equivalent to 8,000 words. But instead of burying you in a horrible cascade of text, we’ll let the photos tell most of the elegant setup’s story.
On April 22, 2013, the world gets its first Apple-branded car. Well, kind of. The iBeetle results from a collaboration between Apple and Volkswagen. The first Apple car ever to hit the road points to Cupertino's ongoing automotive ambitions.
Tweetz o' the day
Earth Day is a reminder that the fight for our planet can’t wait and neither should we. That’s why Apple is already carbon neutral, and by 2030, our products & supply chain will be too. 🌎 httpapple.com/environment/p

"Our whole company, our whole philosophical base, is founded on one principle. That principle is that there is something very special and very historically different that takes place when you have one computer and one person." -- Steve Jobs
