I’m a hunt-and-peck typist.
I can kinda halfway touch-type, but I have to look at the keyboard to do it. (Oddly, I’m much better on typewriter keyboards or mechanical ones with longer key travel. Why? 🤷 It’s a mystery.)
So typing for me is somewhat painful, but I have mastered about a dozen keyboard shortcuts that I use all the time.
One of the most useful is Command-A (⌘A) — select all. It proves useful for all kinds of things, from highlighting a full webpage to copy to bulk-editing a bunch of files in a folder.
So I was a bit surprised to discover that there’s a gesture in iOS that does something similar.
Actually, I knew about the two-finger “select all” swipe, but I didn’t know all the places it could be useful. We have a nice short post and video that explains everything it can do.

While Apple is busy onshoring some Mac production to appease the Trump administration, an enormous offshore problem is looming. And, TBH, it looks very, very bad. And we thought rising RAM prices were a problem!
If you think Apple’s gorgeous but pricey Studio Display is wonderful now, just wait till you clap eyes on its replacement.
🔥 DEAL OF THE DAY: This hulking Anker Solix C300 DC Power Bank is a beast, but it’s surprisingly portable — and affordable with 28% off. Various bundles with solar panels are discounted, too.
With the dodgy makeup and bad CGI, I’m not sure the new trailer for the latest season of For All Mankind is doing the show any favors!
Steve Jobs would have been 71 years old today. Happy birthday, Steve!
