Apple's new holiday ad is a genuine tearjerker.
Lots of people say Apple lost its advertising mojo after Steve Jobs died.
And true, there haven’t been iconic campaigns of late like Think Different or Get a Mac.
But Apple still produces great ads, and its annual Christmas season ad is often a highlight. (Remember the one about the sullen teenager who was secretly making a great family video?)
This year is no exception. Called “Heartstrings,” Apple’s new holiday spot depicts a touching Xmas moment highlighting the new Hearing Aid feature for AirPods Pro 2. (Those remarkable earbuds are on sale for an astonishingly low price right now, BTW.)
Even though I’m a cynical, bitter old man, this year’s Apple Christmas ad brought a tear to my eye. I couldn’t help it. Watch it here.

We’d been hoping iOS 18.2 — which will bring several big Apple Intelligence features — would launch right about now. Alas, it appears to be delayed.
The MacBook Air I love is on sale for what I think is an amazing price for a laptop this hot. It’s not the latest and greatest, but it does appear to be the cheapest.
PSA: If you own a Belkin BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K, stop using it: It’s been recalled due to fire risk.
Talking of crying, Steve McQueen’s new WWII drama Blitz might have you blubbing at the end. It made a mess of my mom, who lived through the London bombings as a young girl.
You might have missed it, but today is Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. Here’s our updated roundup of the best Apple-related deals we can find.

It's pretty wild how these Apple patents from 2007 look so similar to what we got with the Apple Vision Pro. That's 17 years ago!

One more thing ...
Marketing is about values. It’s a complicated and noisy world, and we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is. So we have to be really clear about what we want them to know about us.
