Get your old ringtone back
Plus all the other sounds that have changed
One of the surest ways to p**s people off is to change something they’ve gotten used to.
Here’s a good example: a lot of the default sounds on your iPhone have been changed — if you updated to iOS 17 (and most iPhone users have).
So now when your iPhone rings, you probably hear a new trilling tone (called “Reflection” in your iPhone’s Settings) rather than the old classic ringtone (which is called “Opening” in Settings).
Luckily, it’s easy to get the old ring tone back, but finding it is a bit tricky. Let us show you how.
While you’re at it, play around with ringtones if you haven’t for a while. There’s some fun new ones in there — like “Chirp,” “Dollop,” “Unfold” or “Valley.”
One thing I always do: I make sure my ringtone is different from my spouse’s, so we instantly know whose phone is ringing. You can’t go wrong with “Old Phone.” Or set it to “Alarm” if you want to p**s off everyone around you!

Thanks to the surging stock market this week, Apple’s market cap has once again topped $3 trillion, which is great news for AAPL investors.
The Magic Keyboard Folio is great for iPad users — I have an older one, which is a little frayed these days but still working fine — and it’s marked way down to just $85 (regularly $250). Might make a nice gift for someone, or for yourself. Also, Best Buy has some good deals on a bunch of Apple gear for that last-minute holiday shopping.
I use the Notes app for my shopping lists — unfortunately, it’s a horrible way to do it. Better is to use the new shopping lists feature in Reminders. Here’s how to use it.

I got to try Apple Vision Pro again (3rd time) and look at my own content (spatial video, panoramas, photos, and video) and… I am hooked. I could spend all day looking at my memories in it.
I also got to see how AirDrop works on it

One more thing ...
I want it to be as beautiful as possible, even if it's inside the box. A great carpenter isn't going to use lousy wood for the back of a cabinet, even though nobody's going to see it.
