Do we really want a folding iPad?
I’m on the fence.
On the one hand, some of the folding gadgets I’ve seen from Samsung have been pretty impressive. They have big, bright, high-resolution screens that ingeniously fold into smaller packages.
On the other hand, why do we need a folding iPad? The iPad isn’t exactly hard to carry around. How much extra utility do you get from folding it in half? Especially when the flexible screens have a plasticky feel.
Maybe it makes sense for the iPad mini, which would fold down into an ultra-portable package that could fit into a pocket or purse.
Or what about the other end of the scale? An iPad with an enormous screen that could fit into a laptop bag.
Either way, Apple is reportedly actively investigating a folding Pad, and it could launch as soon as next year.

One more thing ...
[On returning to the U.S. after visiting India] My head had been shaved, I was wearing Indian cotton robes, and my skin had turned a deep, chocolate brown-red from the sun. So I’m sitting there and my parents walked past me about five times and finally my mother came up and said ‘Steve?’ and I said ‘Hi!’
