Epic CEO says ‘Apple must be stopped’

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney renewed his attacks on Apple saying -- somewhat hyperbolically -- that "Apple must be stopped."

During his speech at a conference in Seoul, Sweeney also called for a single, universal app store that works across all platforms. Not just iOS, but also Android, Windows, PlayStation, Xbox and more.

Sweeney said Epic Games is already working with developers to create such a store that'd let users "buy software in one place, knowing that they’d have it on all devices and all platforms."

It's an interesting idea, and one I'd not heard before. But it sounds like Sweeney wants his universal app store to be the Amazon for software, and that goes way beyond his fight with Apple.
