In defense of Stage Manager

If you read the Apple blogs, you likely think Stage Manager -- the new iPad windowing system -- is a huge disaster.

Thanks to a few loud voices, the consensus seems to be that the feature needs to go back to the drawing board.

But Ed Hardy, Cult of Mac's resident iPad power user, says there's actually a lot to love.

Ed has used the feature for more than five months, and he thinks a lot of the criticism is because "it doesn’t work like Mac."

Instead, Ed thinks it's actually better at multitasking than the Mac, and in time, "it’s going to be brilliant."

Has Ed lost his mind, or is he onto something here? Dive into our top post and decide for yourself.

The new Stage Manager multitasking system is Apple’s answer to requests for floating app windows on iPad. It’s drawn a lot of criticism, much of which is undeserved. I use the new system all day every day. Here’s why there’s a lot to like in Stage Manager.

Apple has started selling the first 15W MagSafe car charger, made by Belkin. Up until now magnetic car chargers haven’t used Apple-certified MagSafe technology. They’re Qi-certified chargers with magnets that offer half the power of a 15W MagSafe charger. But that changes now with Belkin’s Boost Charger Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe.

Plugable’s new Quad HDMI Adapter can add up to four displays to a MacBook, even even ones that would otherwise only support only a single external monitor. The USB-C accessory is even portable.

Sometimes you need to edit a PDF. Adobe Acrobat is expensive, but an app called PDF Editor PDF Book Reader, which has been around for years, is an affordable, feature-rich alternative. And it's been updated for mobile.

Looking to gift your loved ones the second-generation AirPods Pro this holiday season? Amazon is taking a sweet 6% off the latest AirPods Pro, bringing their price down to $234. You can get Apple’s latest wireless earbuds by next week in most states in the US, ahead of Black Friday and Thanksgiving.

Some accessories are just functional, while others do their job and look good at the same time. But if you’d like an Apple Watch band that brings eye-catching elegance to your wrist in any setting, behold the Goldenerre Stud Apple Watch Band.

One more thing ...

"We went through this stage at Apple where we went out and thought, 'Oh, we're gonna be a big company, let's hire a professional management.' ... It didn't work at all. Most of them were bozos. They knew how to manage, but they didn't know how to do anything!" -- Steve Jobs, 1984.
