Better iPhone battery icon is back 🪫

It's back!

A graphical version of the beloved battery percentage indicator on the iPhone's Home Screen, that is.

The latest iOS 16.1 beta once again tweaks the design of the battery indicator, bringing back a graphical indication of battery level.

No one liked the previous version, which showed a solid battery with the percentage spelled out in numerals. It drove some people crazy that the graphic showed the battery full when the numerals said 25%.

Apple's new design blends the two previous versions, and some people still aren't happy. There's already moaning on the socials that it's too hard to see.

Just goes to show, you can't please all the people all the time. Or anybody any of the time.

The second iOS 16.1 beta gives users the option to show their iPhone’s remaining battery life in the status bar as a number and as a graphic at the same time. This is a combination of the two previous options.
