Best Prime Day Apple deals

Lots of lowest ever prices, but stuff's going to sell out fast

Yeah, updated AirPods Pro 3 are on the horizon, but the annual shopping spree that’s Amazon Prime Day has the current AirPods Pro 2 discounted to a price that genuinely surprised me: just $149.

That’s $100 off the suggested retail price and the lowest to date for these great earbuds, which offer a ton of features.

I’m tempted to pick up a pair as a backup for my current Pro 2s, which are covered in cracks and dents and aren’t going to last much longer.

But I dunno, should I hold out? Some Apple analysts think the AirPods Pro 3 may debut in the fall with the iPhone 17 lineup, but several others, including ace Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, are predicting a September 2026 debut — more than a year away.

The last time I sat on a great Prime Day deal (an 11-inch iPad for just $249, the lowest price ever), I ended up regretting it. Bitterly, in fact.

This year’s Prime Day looks especially good for Apple gear. A lot of Apple products are on sale for their lowest prices ever, including most of the major Apple Watch models, several models of iPad and AirPods, and some MacBooks, to name but a few.

Prime Day is scheduled to run a full four days this year (July 8-11) but a lot of stuff is definitely going to sell out, especially popular colors or models.

As they, say, don’t wait!

Here’s our list of the best Prime Day deals we could find, and we’ve broken it up into seperate posts if you’re interested in particular products — see below. We’ll be keeping these posts updated throughout the week.

The problem for me, is how do I hide this from my wife?

  • Hilariously, the new iOS 26 beta 3 really dials back the Liquid Glass effect. Steve Jobs famously said never listen to customers, they don’t know what they want, but it took just a week’s worth of kvetching on X and YouTube for Apple to more or less ditch its breakthrough new UI. And it seemed to me that a lot of people were just starting to like Liquid Glass.

One more thing ...

You always have to keep pushing to innovate. Dylan could have sung protest songs forever and probably made a lot of money, but he didn’t. He had to move on, and when he did, by going electric in 1965, he alienated a lot of people... The Beatles were the same way. They kept evolving, moving, refining their art. That’s what I’ve always tried to do — keep moving. Otherwise, as Dylan says, if you’re not busy being born, you’re busy dying.
