Why Apple’s VR headset won’t be next iPhone

Steve Jobs always said if anyone was going to make his company's products obsolete, he wanted it to be Apple.

Apple is developing an extremely cool VR headset that may be announced early in 2023.

It'll bristle with sensors, be powered by an extremely powerful chip, and have three high-res displays, one of which will be external.

The AR/VR headset likely coming from Apple in 2023 will not be the company’s next smash hit. It will have fans, just not huge numbers of them. But this first headset will be an important stepping stone toward an Apple device that will change the world.
