Apple Watch can spot Parkinson's disease

The wearable can detect disease years before first symptoms arise.

The Apple Watch may detect Parkinson's disease years in advance of the first symptoms, a new scientific study concluded.

Scientists trained an AI on accelerometer data from Apple Watch wearers, and found it could accurately predict who would go on to contract the deadly degenerative disease.

Unfortunately, there’s still no cure for Parkinson’s, or even effective treatments, but an early warning could still have a big and important impact on people’s lives.

Plus, it’s another big feather in the cap of the Apple Watch, which is shaping up to be an indispensable health watchdog.
