Apple Watch blood oxygen testing returns, mostly ...
Blood oxygen testing is back for Apple Watch users, but not on the wearable itself.
Apple on Thursday morning issued a surprise press release saying that blood oxygen testing would return for Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models sold in the United States in the past year and a half.
The feature had been disabled on these devices thanks to a patent dispute. But a recent ruling by U.S. Customs allowed Apple to bring it back — but on your iPhone, not the Apple Watch.
The whole thing’s a bit bizarre, and the workaround is anything but elegant. But if you own an affected device, it’s Christmas morning for you!
