Apple trumps Trump
Cupertino promises $500 billion in U.S. investments and 20,000 new jobs.

Apple on Monday announced a staggering $500 billion U.S. investment plan that supposedly will generate 20,000 jobs. It also gave President Donald Trump an early political win.
“APPLE HAS JUST ANNOUNCED A RECORD 500 BILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” Trump posted afterward on Truth Social, his social media platform. “THE REASON, FAITH IN WHAT WE ARE DOING, WITHOUT WHICH, THEY WOULDN’T BE INVESTING TEN CENTS. THANK YOU TIM COOK AND APPLE!!!”
Cook has proven to be a savvy Trump whisperer, promising $350 billion in investments during the first Trump administration and getting the president to exempt Apple from an earlier round of China tariffs.
But Apple’s announcement today is light on details, and some analysts are already pointing out it’s going to be difficult for Apple to come up with an extra $100 billion a year to spend, even for a company its size.

One more thing ...
When I got started I was 20 or 21, and my role models were the semiconductor guys like Robert Noyce and Andy Grove of Intel, and of course Bill Hewlett and David Packard. They were out not so much to make money as to change the world and to build companies that could keep growing and changing. They left incredible legacies…. The rewarding thing isn't merely to start a company or to take it public. It's like when you're a parent. Although the birth experience is a miracle, what's truly rewarding is living with your child and helping him grow up.
