Apple's first robot
Cute desktop robot looks unnervingly lifelike.
Apple appears to be prototyping a cute desktop robot that looks just like Pixar’s Luxo Jr. lamp mascot.
A video posted by a team of Apple robotics researchers shows a cute desktop robot performing a number of remarkably lifelike movements.
The little robot interacts very naturally with a person in the video. When asked about the day's weather, for example, it first looks out the window before providing the forecast.
It’s cute but somewhat dissettling, to be honest.
It also might offer a hint at Apple's future plans — the company is rumored to be developing some kind of HomePod with a robot arm. Chances are, it’ll look a lot like this.
