Apple doubles down on the hump 🐫
Massive camera humps are here to stay, and are getting even more pronounced, it seems.
If the latest leaks are correct -- and they look compelling -- all four models in the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup are getting bigger bumps.
It cements how important cameras are to the iPhone. Long gone are the days of single-camera systems with lenses that sit flush to the body, even in entry-level models.
A couple years ago, pronounced camera humps drove many iPhone buyers into a frenzy. But the brouhaha seems to have settled somewhat, as people have come to live with protruding lenses.
Personally, I actually like the camera hump. It think it looks cool. It adds a utilitarian aesthetic to an otherwise-flat-and-featureless slab of glass and metal.
And, of course, the image quality they deliver is best-in-class.
If bigger humps = better pictures, I'm all for it.

Apple's new monitor is good, but is it worth the $1,600 price? Today’s featured setup seems to answer the question in the affirmative. See how the Studio Display in the photo floats in the air? When you think about it, it’s really just a matter of factoring in the value of levitation.

"There's different things in life you can do. You can become a painter, you can become a sculptor. You can make something by yourself. But that's not what I do. I do the other thing, which is, you work at things that one person can't do, and that you need large numbers of people to do. I know people like symbols, but it's always unsettling when people write stories about me, because they tend to overlook a lot of other people." -- Steve Jobs
