Androids are officially worthless

It's official: Most Androids phones aren't worth reselling or trading in.

A new survey has found that, unlike iPhone, most Android handsets aren’t resold or traded in. A good proportion end up in the trash.

I’ve owned a few Android phones over the years, mostly for testing or running the odd app that’s Android only. I’ve never been a daily user.

And while the hardware is often impressive, I never warmed to the software.

This sounds petty, but I don’t like the look of most Android icons, or the UI.

Even on iPhone, I find Google’s multicolored icons look, well, cheap and gaudy. I know I sound like an insufferable snob, but I make no apologies.

It’s the same way I feel about using a Windows PC after being a lifelong Mac user. A PC is OK in a pinch, but the underlying logic of the operating system is different, and I’m often stumped if I want to do anything that’s even slightly advanced.

So there’s a good reason your iPhone is expensive: It lasts a lot longer than any Android handset.

One more thing ...

Pixar is seen by a lot of folks as an overnight success, but if you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time.
