2026: A big year for OLED
Apple will finally go big on OLED screens.
There are good reasons why the best and most expensive TVs on the market are OLED — it’s a truly impressive technology.
OLED, which stands for organic light-emitting diode, is way better than all of today’s competing screen technologies.
It offers unmatched brightness, contrast, color fidelity and response times. Plus, OLED screens are amazingly thin, lightweight and eco-friendly. They are even somewhat flexible.
OLED shines (literally) in all areas of comparison, except one: cost. OLED screens are pricey.
Apple uses OLED screens in some of its nicest gear, namely iPhone, Apple Watch and the recently launched M4 iPad Pro.
But that’s about to expand. Apple is poised to use OLED across a much wider range of products. Here’s what to expect.

I couldn’t get into Severance. I like weird stuff, but the Apple TV+ show was too weird for me. Maybe I should give it another shot. If you like really weird shows, see the Severance season two trailer.
Vision Pro appears to be poised for its if-you-see-a-stylus-they-blew-it moment: Sony is in talks to bring its VR hand controllers to the platform for precision gaming experiences. I’m sure VR gamers are rejoicing!
We were supposed to get iOS 18.2 by today. What’s the holdup?
I’ve seen ads for these “subwoofer” earbuds on Facebook and was really intrigued. And yeah, they deliver on sound, but they are letdown in other areas.
Need a fancy Xmas present? The large-size Apple Watch Series 10 just dropped to its lowest price ever. Actually, just get it for yourself.
Seeing today’s “Today in Apple history” post reminded me that Cult of Mac was the first news org to report that Apple was planning to open a store in NYC’s Grand Central Station: a scoop that was widely derided at the time.
Ooooof!! The results of last Friday’s poll. Brutal. See below.

There’s a $2.99 app in the App Store right now “My Classic - Retro Console” that’s hiding its true feature: an iPod Classic emulator that utilizes your Apple Music library. It works amazingly well and if you want it, get it before Apple pulls it (they will).

One more thing ...
The mark of an innovative company is not only that it comes up with new ideas first, but also that it knows how to leapfrog when it finds itself behind.
