I have one of Apple’s new and shiny Studio Display monitors. It cost a fortune. And while I generally love it, the speakers have been a pain since day one.
The speakers suffer from weird, unpredictable problems that are hard to categorize because they change and don’t occur on a predictable schedule.
Sometimes the speakers sound glitchy during playback. Often the volume is very low. And occasionally they don’t play at all.
Apple is aware of the problems and has a “fix,” according to a leaked internal document, but you’ll roll your eyes when you hear what it is.

“We want to qualitatively change the way people work. We don’t just want to help them do word processing faster or add numbers faster. We want to change the way they can communicate with one another.” – Steve Jobs
